February 2012

I have promoted this book before on this website but after recent conversations with friends and family in regard to them changing churches, questioning teachings and looking for “new” truths, I think it’s appropriate to begin the year with:

BEWARE THE WINDS OF DOCTRINE

By Henry Miranda

So, we have this favourite preacher who knows everything there is to know.  Or, we have just heard a new spin on a biblical topic and wonder if we have just heard it wrong before. How then do we know what is false doctrine and what is truth?  As Christians we need to know the Bible as the doctrine of Christ. We need to be grounded in the Word of God so we will recognize false doctrine when we hear it.

False doctrine is spread by false preachers and preachers who do not know the Word of God. Some take the Word of God and twist it for their own advantage. Be wary in what you hear. There is no shame in finding out the truth for yourself. In fact, it’s biblical. Ephesians 4:14 says: “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.”

When Henry Miranda first contacted me with his new book idea he told me that he believed the Lord wanted him to work on the project now putting other writing aside. Henry asked my opinion and also to proof read his new manuscript – Beware the Winds of Doctrine. It wasn’t even completed but I was eager to see what God had placed on his heart. Through personal experience with false preachers and doctrine, I have always been interested in this topic and how to express my concern, and help anyone being deceived by false doctrine. I found myself reading chapters as Henry sent them — forgetting to proof read. I needed to read the chapters over and over. Not because of any inaccuracies or spelling boo boos but merely because I found Henry’s insight, and the Bible verses that backed his knowledge, a powerful tool to help anyone caught up in false doctrinal teaching. So, with a Bible beside me and the manuscript before me, I plunged into what I found to be a great privilege to proof read Henry Miranda’s - Beware the Winds of Doctrine. Why not buy a copy today and find out more!
