Double MindedAugust 31, 2009 on 11:32 am | In Blog entries | Comments OffJames 1:8 “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 4:8 “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” It never ceases to amaze me how people can say one thing and do another. Or, how people act one way in public and then act differently behind closed doors. I think we all can be guilty of deceit or pretense to create a better image of ourselves in the eyes of others, but God sees all and never turns a blind eye to sin. I also believe we should seek to do what is right and not at the expense of trying to deceive…or, for our own gain. We need to reconsider our ways, speak truth and serve Him with a humble heart. Why do we do the things we do? Why do we say the things we say? Sometimes we need to re-evaluate our motives. Sometimes we have to check our behavior in the sight of the Lord, and in the eyes of others. We can only live truthful lives with cleansed hearts before God…and renewed minds to serve Him in a way that is honorable. Surely we all want to live as we ought, represent the truth of The Word, and show integrity in all we do—seen and unseen. Don’t be double minded but seek to do what is right in His eyes and others. Father, teach us to speak with integrity to honor you. Cleanse our heart and mind so that, in all we do, we do to reflect the life of Your son, Jesus. Amen. © Chrissy Siggee
FINAL WORDSAugust 2, 2009 on 8:04 pm | In Blog entries | Comments OffPhilippians 4:8 My Lord’s presence greets me each morning and through my relationship with Him, my life is complete. My days are filled with His beauty and His overwhelming goodness. There is nothing that I lack or desire. “I can’t imagine this universe without being able to see God’s beauty all around me. There’s nothing more beautiful than God’s creation. It’s as much a part of me as my Saviour himself. Everything he created was to His will and glory, and nothing was made by accident”. – (from my book: Glimpses of His Glory) After spending many months housebound and at times bedridden, my appreciation of His grace and mercy, overflows each day. Many of the poems in my book, Glimpse of His Glory’, were written during times of pain and loneliness. Today, as even in my darkest hours, I have much to thank my Saviour for. I love the dawn, rainbows and the freshness after the rain. The beauty of the foothills to the mountains beyond takes my breath away. Rivers that flow with calmness to the restless rush of waters and the powerful declarations of the oceans bring my heart and soul and mind into alignment with the Father. All praise be to God for all that is good and true, for He is worthy to be praised. Father, my prayer is not for me alone, but for all those who read this book. Let them take time out to soak in Your creation and see You in a new and powerful way, and in the glimpses of Your glory. Amen. © Chrissy Siggee
