End of Year Prayer and BlessingDecember 30, 2008 on 1:23 pm | In Blog entries | No CommentsChristmas is over and another year is drawing to a close. As 2009 approaches and I reflect back on the past 12 months, I thank God for all he has done in my life. I praise God for big blessings and small as each one etches its memory. Many have experienced tragic losses and/ or unbearable sadness throughout the year. Some have experienced huge changes in their lives, while others praise God for a year of divine miracles and answers. Yet each one of us is still here to say “thank you” to the God of all circumstances, which by His grace, has brought us to these final days of 2008. My prayer for those who visit my website over the final days of 2008 will know God’s loving arms are around them and are blessed by what they read. Father, I ask that your blessings will rain in abundance on each one of your children. Keep these dear people safe and well as we draw near to the end of another year. I pray for prosperity from above for everyone, a prosperity that only you can give through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. © Chrissy Siggee
Dawn: Awaken the Desires of my HeartDecember 26, 2008 on 10:18 am | In Blog entries | No CommentsA recent visit by the coast had me reminiscing about the days spent writing my first book. As I breathed in the seaside freshness, it stimulated the desires that once beckoned me to explore the dream. Pale pink clouds caressed the sunrise like a morning hug. Birds sang praises to welcome the dawn. My thoughts reached out as in a dream, capturing a peace within my soul. While the sun elevated slowly into a glowing sky, words surged forth like a shifting stream. My fingers moved quickly to keep up with the flow of thoughts. My heart was overwhelmed by the outpouring of phrases previously unknown. There’s something about the break of day that gives freshness to the mind and releases expression onto a page. Immersed in my writing, I was still aware of the increasing brightness filling the sky beyond the open window, but I was also conscious of the glow within my inner being. If there is ever a place I feel in harmony with God, is in absorbed in writing. To not write would create an empty cavern in my life. My desire is to praise Him through words inspired by creation. My hopes and dreams rest in knowing that He is the only one I need to bring joy and delight. Let Your Word penetrate my soul. You are the author of my faith. Allow me, Lord, to bring joy and delight to your heart in return. May the words I write be inspired by your love and grace. Amen. © Chrissy Siggee
Live by Faith Not by SightDecember 24, 2008 on 10:28 pm | In Blog entries | No CommentsJohn 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. You may have heard the phrase; I live by faith and not by sight. However, do we really believe it?One of the most exciting things we can do in our Christian walk is to lead another to Christ. Visiting up to two hundred women a month in a maternity ward was a great experience for me. Often, with the opportunity of seeing patients only once or twice, was a problem when it came to building any kind of relationship. Finding an opportunity to lead one of those women to Christ was not an easy task. I also had the restrictions with all the privacy laws placed on us within the hospital system. Being the instigator of such a conversation could find a visitor removed from the hospital, permanently. My spirit needed to be prepared for the opportunity when it arose. It was a privilege to lead about ten percent of the women through a prayer of Salvation, and yes, I still feel the same shiver of excitement, when someone comes to Christ, as I did the first time. However, because I only had the opportunity to visit a few times during their short stay and never any longer than half an hour, I did not get that chance to see them develop in their Christian walk. Many came from places some hundreds of miles away. I could only encourage them to seek out a church in their hometowns and pray for them. This is where I needed to live by faith and not by sight. I needed to believe that the new Christians would go on in their Christian walk. It is not hard to lead someone to Christ. Sure, I was restricted in the hospital setting but we all meet people in our every day lives. Where are the new believers, why are there so many seats still empty in our churches? It is not just the Pastors job. We all have a duty to lead others to Christ, to bring people into the family of God. I leave you all with a new challenge this week, and I am speaking to myself here as well. We need to step out in faith and share the good news to someone this coming week. We need to bring the lost to Christ. We need to live by faith and not by sight. We need to believe lives, can be changed. However, we need to believe it, before we see it. Prepare your heart before God every day. Ask Him to guide you and to help you to be ready for when the opportunity comes. Take on the challenge. Speak to someone this week about salvation… and believe. © Chrissy Siggee Scripture Verses used are from the King James Version of the Bible
